Sermon

Your Race!

Heb.12:1-3
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

1 Cor.9:24-27
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they [do it] to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Heb.12.1
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

The word Sin here is the word Hamartia, which means miss the mark!

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
What is The Holy Spirit saying here? 1. Lay aside weight 2. Lay aside sin 3. Run with patience (impatience leads to condemnation, contempt, low self-esteem, sin!) 4. Look at Jesus during your race

Let us lay aside everything that is on the way, everything that hinders me in this race. Some of you are looking at your neighbour, and how he runs his race!
That is why you miss your mark.
The race is your entire life; it goes through the water, through the fire! Through temptation, through persecutions, through different hinders, but you are more than a conqueror in Christ, keep your eyes on him! He is the finisher and the author of our faith!

What God showed me! We are on the Stadium and the racetrack! The racetrack is Grace, that is where you stand now, your have been clothe with righteousness! You got The Holy Spirit who gives you power to run the race! You are ready to run! But the Spirit showed me that many of you are carrying a backpack! Others are trying to run with heavy luggage. I saw tags on that luggage, some are carrying your past, low self-esteem, pride, condemnation, sickness, lack, poverty, gossip and so on..

Some of you are tired of all this! You are tired of being tired!

Matt 11:28-29
28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls..
