Disappointment and forgiveness
-If I take away my words and the time I spend in Church, how much of Jesus shows through my life style?-
2.Corinthians 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
v.17 amplified - previous moral and spiritual condition)
v. 18 amplified - received us in to favor, brought us into harmony with himself)
You can bring people in harmony with God and with eachother!
Disappointment
You can overcome your disappointments!
What to do, so that you do not stay in them!
Think of Joseph , he was sold out by his own brethren, his own blood. He did not get into disappointment, nor bitter.
One of the most usual misunderstanding, and confusion about disappointments is that we blame on an incident or event.
If it was because of the incidents that happened in our life that we are disappointed, then Joseph would have become disappointed as well!
BUT HE DID NOT GET DISSAPOINTED!!!!!!
Out of disappointment, people want to strike back, get revenge!
Do you know what disappointment is?
It is my own reaction on something that happened, it my soulish reaction on situation in life! It is something I choose, I choose not to forgive!
When I am disappointed over a specific situation, then I am having an attitude against people. I have something against someone!
People that are disappointed will always justified their behavior. They think they have the right to be disappointed! This state of mind is always seeking for sympathy, self-pity. There is always hardness in disappointments, always without exception, people that are carrying disappointments have difficulties to realize that is my reaction, or it is my fault that I am disappointed. You have to see that is my reaction, my hardness that makes me feel so disappointment, we need to realize this before the Lord!
No one that is disappointed shows freedom, happiness, peace of heart.
Disappointed people are always talking bad about other people, blaming on others, etc.
Disappointments or let downs in life has to do with events or incidents in life, but do not stay there, because that is the root of bitterness.
Bitterness is like spiritual cancer, once it comes into your life, it will spread to your entire vessel. A person like that, is cynical, never sees something good in anything, Bitterness can kill your spiritual life!
So what is the solution to all this?
Forgiveness! You have to learn to forgive, you must train and practice forgiveness!
Mark 11:25 “ And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.”
Proverbs 19:11 “ the discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. And his glory is to overlook a transgression.”
Matthew 18:21-35
Is a wonderful story about the blessing of forgiving and what a cursed it becomes when you do not.
A story about a servant that had a big debt that was forgiven by his master, buy the servant himself would not forgive his fellow servant, and put him into jail!
1) Jesus shows us how unforgivness can bind another person’s life and God’s plan for that person. You may notice that the other servant was still in jail when the story ends. Your unforgivness has consequences for others, you are binding up other people around you, and you release problems in others people lives!
Unforgivness results in torture; you surrender your self to torturing spirits!
Choose always forgiveness in every situation:
Remember this! Life is not always fair, but God is good all the time
Do you have something against someone? Confess this as a sin and repent, ask God for forgiveness!
The healing/restoration of your soul are in forgiveness and repentance!
So what are I am going to forgive?
Forgive your self!
Psalms 103:12 - As far as the east is from the west. So far has He removed our transgressions from us -
Forgive people in your family, friends, maybe even your pastor, leader!
Confess it for the Lord! Forgive, do it every day, do it so you hear it, do it so the devil hears it!
Amen!
